The 2012 Louisiana Queer Conference (LAQC) was held at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge on April 21, 2012. We were joined by over 100 college students from all over Louisiana to network, build leadership skills, and engage in discussions about the state of the LGBTQ movement in our state and on our various campuses. Our keynote address was given by Mara Keisling, the Founding Executive Director of the National Center for Transgender Equality. We were also joined by community advocates from around the state for a panel where they gave their insights and perspectives on the state of the queer movement in Louisiana.
